Episode video: Drip Saves the Day
The animated episode is on its way. Until it is up, read the script below to your class. It takes about 3 minutes.
The big idea
Bodies need water refills, all day long.
Script
Read it aloud if you can't play the video. Gray lines describe what happens on screen. The bold lines are what Drip says.
A sunny classroom right before recess. Kids slumped, yawning, one kid rubbing her head. A wall clock ticks slowly.
Uh oh. Somebody's running low...
Drip bounces in through the water fountain spout and lands on a desk with a squeak.
Hi! I'm Drip! And I can tell when a classroom needs a refill.
Kids' heads turn into little fuel gauges sitting near empty.
See, your body is kind of like a phone. You use up water all day: when you breathe, when you sweat, even when you go to the bathroom. If you don't refill, you get tired, cranky, and your brain gets foggy.
Drip hands out cups of water; gauges rise to full with a happy ding; kids sit up, smile, high five.
A few sips of water, and boom. Batteries charged!
Sugar Sneak peeks from behind a vending machine, rubbing his hands together.
But watch out for this guy. That's Sugar Sneak. He hides sugar in lots of drinks, and too much sugar is not what your body needs.
Drip spins around; Sugar Sneak zips out of frame.
Don't worry. I'm putting together a team to stop him. A team of kids who know how to drink smart. It's called the Drip Squad!
Six glowing mission badges appear one by one.
There are six missions. Finish all six and you're an official member. Ready?
Kids and Drip throw their arms up.
Say it with me: Sip, sip, hooray!
- End card
Mission unlocked! Take the Drip Squad pledge.
The Drip Squad pledge
I'll sip water all day long. I'll listen when my body says it's thirsty. I'll read the label and catch Sugar Sneak. I'm on the Drip Squad! Sip, sip, hooray!
