How much sugar?
Dashed line: the American Heart Association limit of 25 g of added sugar for the whole day, ages 2 to 18. Typical amounts, rounded. Brands vary.
Good to know
- The added sugar is on top of milk's natural sugar. A typical 8 oz chocolate milk has about 3 teaspoons of added sugar.
- If your child will only drink milk when it's flavored, ask your pediatrician how to handle it.
- Check the label. Added sugars vary a lot by brand.
Try instead
